The riding experience of a lifetime

The Global Amateur Tour, established in 2018, is a gateway for aspiring and experienced riders to train and compete on borrowed horses in exciting locations around the world

What do our riders have to say about The Global Amateur Tour

Zaria Carter - NZ

“It’s honestly been such an awesome experience. My horse jumped incredibly for me, and I’m so grateful to have been given the opportunity to ride such an amazing stallion. He was just awesome in every way. I definitely wasn’t expecting the quality of horses we were matched with, and that really blew me away.

Each day felt like a chance to learn, grow, and trust the partnership more, and the horses truly made the experience so special. Being able to step into a new environment, ride a different horse, and still feel that level of support and performance was something I’ll never forget.

One of the best parts has been the people. I’ve made some really amazing friends on this tour, friendships I know will last a lifetime and sharing this experience with them made it even more special.

If you’re thinking about doing a Global Amateur Tour, my advice is simple: just do it. It is so worth it. This has been one of the most incredible experiences I’ve ever had, and I’m so grateful to have been part of it.”

Anastasia Topalov - Aus

“I’m honestly just so proud and so happy. I’ve had the best time ever and I’m still riding the excitement of it all.

My horse was absolutely incredible, unlike anything I’ve ever ridden before. She was so smart, so quick, and just an amazing mare. Saying goodbye to her was really hard because the partnership we built was so special. It was such a unique and unforgettable experience.

Having my two biggest supporters there, my mum and my grandfather, watching and cheering me on made it even more meaningful. Sharing those moments with them is something I’ll never forget.

What made this tour truly special was the balance of everything. The riding, the competition, the travel, and the cultural experiences all came together perfectly. We went everywhere, experienced so much, and got a real insight into life and riding on the other side of the world. It honestly felt like one of the best experiences, and holidays, I’ve ever had.”

Annabell Noakes – South Africa

“Being part of the Global Amateur Tour has been absolutely incredible. I honestly don’t have enough words to describe how special the experience has been. You don’t get put on a horse like this every day, and I’m just so grateful for the opportunity.

From the moment I saw my horse, it was love at first sight. After the first ride, I remember thinking, ‘Oh my gosh, this horse is incredible.’ It genuinely felt like I’d hit the jackpot, the luckiest draw of my life. Over the course of the tour, we built such an amazing partnership by spending time together and learning to trust each other, and that made all the difference.

The competition itself was unforgettable. Three days of jumping, clear rounds, and finishing eighth overall, as well as being the best placed foreign rider, was something I’m incredibly proud of.

Beyond the sport, getting to experience Mexico, meet new people, and be part of such a supportive, welcoming environment made this tour truly special. I’m so excited for what’s next and can’t wait to do it all again. This experience has given me a real taste of what’s possible, and I’ll be forever grateful for it.”

Raquel V. Toro & Francisco E. Toro - Puerto Rico

“Being part of the Global Amateur Tour has been an absolute blessing. From the moment we arrived, the experience has been incredible, the horses, the competition, the people, and everything in between. We’re so grateful for the opportunity and for everything we’ve learned along the way. This is an experience we’ll carry forward as we continue to grow and improve as riders.

Competing internationally for the first time was a huge milestone for us. Seeing all the hard work, dedication, and effort finally pay off on international soil was incredibly emotional, not just for us as riders, but for our family as well. Having that support on the sidelines made the experience even more special and meaningful.

What made this tour truly unforgettable was everything beyond the arena. Meeting riders from all over the world, learning different styles of riding, and sharing cultures created connections that go far deeper than competition. From laughs and dancing to shared meals and unforgettable memories, the off-horse experience was just as powerful as the riding itself.

We’re incredibly thankful for the support of the Puerto Rico Equestrian Federation, which stood behind us every step of the way. This tour has inspired us to keep pushing forward, and we’re already dreaming about what’s next. The Global Amateur Tour is more than just a competition; it’s a family, an education, and an experience like no other.”
