The Global Amateur Tour Mexico, where world-class competition meets soul-stirring culture in the heart of one of the most vibrant countries on earth.

The 2025 Global Amateur Tour Mexico wrapped up in style this  week, and what a journey it was! Riders from across five continents came together to create magic both in and out of the saddle. From the arrival tequila at our rooftop welcome dinner in Mexico City to the final round of the 2* International in Puebla, this year’s tour delivered one unforgettable moment after another.

Let’s take a look back at a week that had it all:

Arrival & Rooftop Welcome

There’s nothing quite like your first view of Mexico City, a sprawling metropolis rich with history, flavour, and energy. The tone was set on night one, as riders gathered under the glowing lights of the Zócalo at our rooftop welcome dinner, kicking off the tour with panoramic views, world-class cuisine, and instant new friendships. The air was thick with excitement, we all knew this was going to be a week to remember.

Horse Trials & The Power of Adaptation

One of the most unique aspects of the GAT Competition Tour? Forming a partnership with your borrowed mount.

Our 18 international riders met their horses for the very first time and bonds quickly emerged. Adapting to a new horse is one of the greatest challenges in our sport, but also one of the most rewarding. With guidance from our elite GAT coaches, every rider had full support to develop trust, rhythm, and feel with their new teammate.

Over three intensive days, riders refined their skills and built confidence, tackling shortened courses and adapting their riding styles. The transformation from first ride to show day was nothing short of remarkable.

The Competition

Riders proudly represented 17 countries across 5 continents in the nations parade to kick off the competition! Parading with their flags under the lights of the international arena.

Across all classes, our riders showcased grit, growth, and sheer determination. From clear rounds to fast jump-offs, every class was a true celebration of what GAT is all about:bringing together passionate riders from around the world, fostering connections, and competing on an international stage.

Highlights included:

  • Children’s Low: Clear rounds from all of our riders, and a double clear on the final day from Zaria Carter of New Zealand, left her in 3rd place on the final day, 10th place overall in the Championship and best placed foreign rider.

  • GAT 1m: A fiercely competitive class, Francisco Toro (Puerto Rico) & Sputnick jumped 2 out of 3 clear rounds to finish 5th place overall and best placed foreign rider.

  • Children’s High: Standout performances from South Africa’s Annabel Noakes, who finished best placed foreign rider and 8th overall.

  • GAT 1.10: An unforgettable week for Australia’s Anastasia Topalov, whose flawless 4-from-4 clear rounds made GAT history.

We also witnessed top rounds from Raquel Toro (Puerto Rico) & Kenji and valuable championship points earned by the entire field.

Each and every rider walked away with not only great memories, but with new tools and skills to further develop their showjumping careers.

Culture & Connection

Of course, no GAT tour is complete without cultural immersion, and Mexico delivered in spades.Riders explored the ancient pyramids of Teotihuacan, dined in the magical cave restaurant La Gruta, and soaked in the warmth of Mexican hospitality throughout the week. Along the way, riders explored iconic landmarks of Mexico, from downtown Puebla, to the colourful streets of Cholula, to the stunning Italian-style village of Val'Quirico.

But perhaps the most powerful part of GAT Mexico? The friendships forged.

Across continents, languages, and backgrounds, this group of riders became a team, one that will stay connected long after the tour ends.
