A Journey of Firsts, Fierce Riding & Unforgettable Connections
There are trips that challenge you. There are journeys that inspire you. And then there’s GAT México 2025 — where the thrill of international show jumping meets the soul of Mexico’s rich culture.
From the moment our riders stepped off the plane in Mexico City, there was a palpable sense of anticipation in the air, a feeling that something special was about to unfold. That feeling was confirmed the moment they arrived at our rooftop welcome dinner, overlooking the glowing heart of the city, the iconic Zócalo. As the sun dipped behind cathedrals and historic domes, new friendships were toasted over world-class cuisine and a skyline that stole every breath. The week had only just begun, and already, it felt like magic.
New Horses, New Bonds, New Horizons
Horse Trials kicked off with 18 international riders meeting their new Mexican mounts for the very first time, a moment filled with anticipation, nerves, and wonder. From the very beginning, partnerships began to bloom. Every stride was a step toward connection, confidence, and discovery. By the end of the very first session, the groundwork for life-changing memories had been laid.
With three intense and rewarding days of training under their belts, riders transitioned into our competition trial experience, where they learned to master stride control, precision, and timing in a competitive-style setting. With a trial competition to simulate the real thing, the excitement is building fast for what will be a first taste of international competition for many.
Beyond the Arena: Awe-Inspiring Mexico
But GAT has never been just about the riding. It’s about exploration, expansion — seeing the world through new eyes. This week, our riders have walked the sacred Avenue of the Dead, stood atop the mighty Pyramid of the Sun, and soaked up the mystery and majesty of Teotihuacan. At La Gruta, a restaurant set deep within a volcanic cave, they took part in a powerful local ritual — lighting candles to reflect, give thanks, and set intentions for the week ahead. It was humbling. Magical. Unforgettable.
And it didn’t stop there. The group has wandered the pastel streets of Puebla, explored the ancient charm of Cholula, and strolled through the storybook village of Val’Quirico. Every stop is a reminder that this tour is about more than competition — it’s about connection, curiosity, and cultural richness.
What’s Still to Come
As the week unfolds, our riders will continue to train with elite international coaches, prepare to perform on the world stage, and — most importantly — push beyond what they thought was possible. Already, lifelong friendships are forming, team spirit is igniting, and the group chat? Unstoppable.
This is the Global Amateur Tour. This is where ordinary riders do extraordinary things. And if you’re dreaming of being part of something bigger than sport - something transformative - then come and join us!
