We are officially halfway through. And what a week it has already been.
From the moment our riders touched down in the breathtaking English Cotswolds, the GAT UK Eventing Tour has lived up to every bit of the hype. World-class training. Behind the scenes access. Riding experiences you simply do not come across every day.
This is what GAT is all about.

The adventure began in the postcard-perfect village of Bourton-on-the-Water, often referred to as the Venice of the Cotswolds. Winding rivers, stone bridges, and golden evening light setting the tone for the week ahead. We kicked things off with a relaxed icebreaker, pairing riders up to learn a few things about each other before introducing their partner to the group. A simple way to turn a group of individuals into a team from day one.
That night, we headed to Venezia for our welcome dinner, where riders from
Australia 🇦🇺, New Zealand 🇳🇿, England 🇬🇧, Corsica 🇫🇷 and Ireland 🇮🇪 all came together ahead of an exciting week.
GAT UK trainer Dan Bizzarro wasted no time setting the standard. The first day of training was built on foundations, with the morning session focused on flatwork fundamentals; adjustability, balance, and control. Stripping it back to create the feel and consistency needed to progress. By the afternoon, riders took those foundations into small gymnastic exercises, beginning to connect the pieces and build confidence in a new environment. With a horse change between sessions, riders were challenged to adapt, problem solve, and refine their feel across different rides. One of the most valuable tools any rider can develop.
If there was one lesson echoing across every session, it was this: fix the trot, fix the transition. Dan broke it down clearly. The quality of your transition is only ever as good as the trot that comes before it. It is not about the moment itself. It is about the preparation, adjustability, balance and control.
By the time we arrived at the stunning facility of Lyneham Heath for the first cross country session, those foundations were already paying off. Riders rose to every challenge under the watchful eye of the Dan Bizzarro Method, bringing the last few days of training together out on the cross country course.
And then came a pinch me moment none of our riders will forget.
Our group headed to Olympic Gold Medallist Laura Collett's yard for an exclusive tour and masterclass with Laura herself. The kind of behind the scenes access you only get with GAT. The masterclass began with a jumping session featuring one of Laura's up and coming young horses, before she brought out the hero himself, London 52, for an exclusive dressage showcase. Two of the best athletes in the world. Up close. The bucket list is only just beginning, and the best part is, they will be back at Badminton later this week to watch Laura compete in person, on her chosen mount, Bling.

Of course, GAT is about more than just riding.
After a day of training, what better way to unwind than soaking up the sun in the beer garden at The Farmer's Dog? Good vibes, Cold drinks and a little slice of the famous Clarkson's Farm magic. GAT UK doesn't get much better than this.
We are halfway through. And the best is yet to come.
Still ahead for our 2026 UK Eventing Tour riders:
More training sessions across flatwork, gridwork, jumping, and cross country
