The wait is over - our 2025 Global Amateur Tour season has officially begun, and what better place to kick things off than the breathtaking city of Porto, Portugal!
The wait is finally over—our highly anticipated 2025 Global Amateur Tour season has officially begun! And what better destination to kick off this incredible year of international showjumping adventures than the breathtaking and culturally rich country of Portugal?
We started our journey in the famed city of Porto, a place where history and modern vibrance blend effortlessly. Our first day together was nothing short of magical as riders and supporters gathered to explore the cobbled streets of this iconic riverside city. From charming local boutiques to stunning examples of traditional Portuguese architecture, there was something to discover around every corner.
Adding to the day’s excitement, we took to the skies on a scenic cable car ride, offering breathtaking panoramic views over Porto’s colorful rooftops and the sparkling Douro River below. The vistas were nothing short of spectacular and created the perfect backdrop for capturing unforgettable memories.
No visit to Porto would be complete without indulging in its most famous export—Port wine! We set off on a leisurely cruise along the iconic Douro River, gliding past historic bridges and rolling vineyards that line the riverbanks. Along the way, we experienced the warm hospitality Portugal is known for, enjoying delicious local cuisine and sampling traditional Port wines that have made this region famous around the world.
With spirits high and excitement building, we’ve now arrived in beautiful Esposende, just 30 minutes north of Porto, which will serve as our base for the week ahead. This picturesque coastal town offers the perfect setting for our riding adventures to begin.
It’s been the perfect start to what promises to be an unforgettable tour filled with camaraderie, incredible experiences, and of course, plenty of time in the saddle.
