Global Amateur Tour Announces Germany Winter Edition for 2026

Global Amateur Tour has announced the launch of its Germany Winter Edition, a distinctive new international experience set to run from 27 November to 7 December 2026 in Bavaria, Germany.

Designed as an intimate, once-in-a-lifetime winter programme, the Germany Winter Edition combines elite showjumping training, access to top European sport, alpine scenery, seasonal festivities, and world-class wellness. Based in Chieming, approximately one hour from Munich, the tour offers riders the opportunity to train, learn, and immerse themselves in one of Europe’s most prestigious equestrian regions during the height of the European winter season.

Elite Training at Gugler Sport Horses

At the heart of the programme is six days of structured training at Gugler Sport Horses, where riders will work with top-quality borrowed sport horses in a professional, supportive environment.

Training is led by Dietmar Gugler, a former international Grand Prix rider and former National Trainer of the German Junior and Young Rider Showjumping Teams. Gugler brings decades of elite experience to the programme, having guided riders to 28 championship medals, including nine European Championship gold medals, and represented Germany in 13 Nations Cup appearances.

Sessions follow a classical, systematic training approach with a strong emphasis on correct flatwork, rideability, balance, rhythm, adjustability, and technical showjumping exercises tailored to indoor arenas. Training groups will be kept small and structured according to rider experience and goals, ensuring personalised feedback and progression.

World-Class Facilities and Horses

Training and stabling take place at Gut Ising Wellness Hotel, a meticulously maintained equestrian estate known for its premium facilities and tranquil setting. Riders benefit from high-quality indoor arenas, professional training infrastructure, and a calm environment designed to support both performance and enjoyment.

Gugler Sport Horses provides a carefully selected group of showjumping horses ranging from experienced competition mounts to talented younger horses. Each horse is chosen for rideability, education, and suitability for amateur riders seeking progression in a safe, confidence-building environment.

A European Indoor Sport Highlight

A standout feature of the German Winter Edition is two days of spectating at Amadeus Horse Indoors in Salzburg, Austria. One of Europe’s premier indoor winter showjumping events, Amadeus Horse Indoors attracts world-class riders and elite horses, offering an electric atmosphere that inspires at the highest level of the sport.

Set against the backdrop of Salzburg in winter, the event completes a rare blend of participation and observation, giving riders exposure to top-tier European competition alongside their own training programme.

Winter Culture, Wellness, and Lifestyle

Beyond the riding, the GAT German Winter Edition is designed as a full European winter lifestyle experience. The itinerary includes visits to traditional Bavarian Christmas markets, opportunities to enjoy seasonal food and festive atmosphere, and selected winter cultural activities.

Optional alpine experiences, including skiing or snow-based activities in nearby regions, are available, alongside relaxed afternoons exploring winter villages and scenic alpine landscapes. Riders and supporters also benefit from Gut Ising’s extensive spa, sauna, and wellness facilities, placing a strong emphasis on recovery and wellbeing throughout the tour.

Accommodation and Logistics

Accommodation is provided on site at Gut Ising Wellness Hotel in comfortable standard twin-share rooms, with single occupancy and upgraded options available on request. The base package includes daily breakfast, welcome and farewell dinners, venue and activity transfers, horse lease, training, stabling, selected sightseeing, and the support of an accompanying Chef d’Équipe throughout the tour.

The Global Amateur Tour team will also provide comprehensive pre-departure administrative support, including guidance on flights, insurance, and travel logistics, allowing participants to focus on their riding and the experience itself.
